Ponga Pandit is 1975 Hindi drama film starring Randhir Kapoor, Neeta Mehta and Danny Denzongpa. The film was a box-office success and Randhir Kapoor’s performance was well acclaimed. Ponga Pandit is the story of Bhagwati Prasad, an innocent villager, whose wedding is fixed with Parvati at an early age. Years later when he grows, Parvati rejects him as she thinks she is too modern for him. The film highlights the problems of westernization and changing cultures.
