Ashok (Shammi Kapoor) is a smooth-talking con man who pretends to belong to a rich family and habitually dupes people. Upon becoming a news photographer through a sham, he lands in trouble when he photographs Seema (Saira Banu), the owner, slapping an eve teaser. He manages to save his job by weaving a web of lies. However, his life changes when he falls in love with Seema. He realises the error of his ways and decides to give up bluffing. But when Ashok's lies are exposed by a covert enemy, he is in a sticky situation and has to win back not only his lady love, but also has to protect Seema.
